Installed carbs, fuel lines/filters, throttle cables and voltage regulator today. Swap meet on Sunday, still looking for tail light and license plate mounting options

Getting a few things done. Installed the electrical box, ignition cylinder, coils and battery. Got started on some of the wiring today as well.

Electrical is pretty much finished. Just waiting on a tail light and still need to finish the rear brake switch. Tested everything else and it seems all systems are go. Need to do some final adjustments cam chain/valve lash grab some oil and should be ready to fire soon.

Hi JM,
17 posts since noon? Wow.
WhyTF did you powdercoat those aluminum hubs & rims?
Yer polishing wheel broken?
And while I say nothing against a PMA/Pamco conversion, use the list's search function to count the number of posts saying "Help with my PMA/Pamco systems" and then count the number of posts saying "Help with my stock ignition and charging systems"
Then make your own decision.

PAMCO does not manufacture, sell, service, modify or promote a PMA system.

Hi pete,
well, no you don't.
OTOH, most PAMCO purchasers also buy a PMA system, as if those two separately made and independently functioning products were joined at the hip.
And those guys are the ones who write in for help, eh?

I disagree, more people have problems with charging (PMA) than ignition (Pamco). I'd go one step further and say it's because they try installing both at the same time rather than doing the Pamco first. The Pamco is rarely defective, and Pete makes it right when it is. Half the time he makes it right even when the consumer is to blame. To say they are synonymous to each other is wrong.

You have it backwards. Most people who buy a PMA also buy a PAMCO and some require assistance with the combined installation.

hi pete, you ol' hairsplitter, you.
OK then.
If you replace a stock points bike alternator with a PMA it makes sense to replace the points with a Pamco but you don't have to.
OTOH if you replace a transistor ignition bike alternator with a PMA you gotta use a Pamco because you ain't got the stock alternator's ignition triggers no more.
And oh yes, those guys can sure get in over their heads, eh?

Nice bike! I think a small bates style headlight would look good. Your bike really makes me think of left cycles builds. And that is a good thing. Clean and simple are the hardest things to achieve.

Its alive!!!! :bike: Actually started first kick, second kick damn near broke my foot off with a nasty kick back :banghead:
Checked timing, was a bit advanced. Ran a few times, sound great! Didn't have much time to play with it, storm rolled into the city seems our first snow fall is on its way. Feels absolutely freaking awesome to hear this thing run, what a journey!
Lots of details to dial in yet, at least I know she runs and will be on the road soon.

Thanks twomany, a first start on a rebuild never gets old. Nothing like those butterfly's you get when you say to yourself "hopefully I didn't forget anything, here goes nothing!"
And what a crazy tone out of this thing, likely going to be too loud for this city, gonna have to consider some sort of muffs down the road
