Thanks musket. The forks and tripple clamp are from an 05 Yamaha r6. The brakes are from a suzuki sv 650. Disks are from a 91 FZ1 and the wheel is stock XS650. Lots of hand made goodies to make it all fit. The exhaust headers are the stainless headers from 650 Central, then i found some stainless cones i liked to match.

Tore it down to just the frame and motor (didn't touch either of those) but re-did just about every other part that came off - sandblasted everything to bare metal (wheels included), no more chrome!! 2 part epoxy primer everything then painted. New brake pads and a few bits and pieces, new clutch slave, petcocks etc. Made the tank look worn down a bit with some sanding. Debating going with a brown brat seat and brown grips - we'll see...
Having a few electrical issues, going to re-wire this winter, maybe send the carbs to OldSkoolCarbs
Need to install the titanium header wrap and black mufflers as well
Headlight done with Dupli-color MetalCast Yellow paint, 3 coats

Here's my 79 with an alternator from a Chevy pickup driven by the chain.

That's interesting... I can't tell from the pic but is it driven by the final drive chain, or is the there a sprocket on the cam/crank shaft and a separate chain driving the alternator?

I'm thinking the latter so you have constant rotation?

No. It's spun by the primary chain. Not ideal, but the whole setup costed about $50, and the only fab was welding the brackets to the frame.

Here's my SG as it sits. Changed the rear turn signals to a set from an Maxim(Ithink). Close up of some wireing changes too.The cover around the ignition switch also came from a Maxim too.

sweet exhaust. I bet those are loud.....Kinda stubby, but loud. You got baffles in there? You could almost zip tie a sock on there to get some back pressure....

Hey Full, like what you have done, I'm more of a restorer with upgrades type of guy, but your build really caught my eye. I love it good job keep posting updates. Are you planning spoked wheels to replace your mags?

Thanks,
When I made the seat it was straight. I was a little nervous cutting it after putting so much work into it. Glad I did though.
The only real profile pick I have is from before I painted it.
