Enough Flow? Cherrry Bomb

Just gonna throw this out there- anyone know if one of those cheap glass-packed cherry bomb mufflers that has 2" in/out would have enough flow in a 2-1 setup? The baffle in my 2-1 rattles around and sounds like sh*t, modding on of these onto the bike would be a quick, cheap, easy fix, and probably sound pretty sick, too. I just don't want to restrict flow from stock.

Or maybe:

Shorty Muffler
12" long, fits 1 1/2" & 1 3/4", fits left or right. Straight thru 1" core GlasPak. With mounting strap. No clamp. Use #MS864-3456 muffler reducers and optional 1 3/4" "T" clamp for stock head pipes, after slitting.

Remember, this is after the 2-1 reducer on the standard-ish 2-1 pipes.

Hi Adam, I just made my first 2into1 with a cherry bomb glasspack and it sound good, you will be fine performance wise (I have the dyno test to prove it :thumbsup:)

I have seen those vids. They sound great! I'm wondering if you have any input on how much louder it will be to do a 2-1 with a single cherry bomb? I figure it will have to be louder running twice the sound through a single muffler. I already have some ear problems so I have to keep my bike quieter than straight pipes.

Also, a side note, how often does one have to re-pack the glass in a glasspack?

Hi Adam, I have a SPL meter (sound pressure meter) and can take some readings, but by ear the duals and 2into1 sound the same (loudness) :shrug: You can't repack them but they are not anything like the ones for bikes. Remember they where made to last for years with a v-8 pushing air thru them, they should last forever hooked up to 650cc's :laugh:
 
Gordon, in your respectable experience, which do you believe will sound better, and which will have more noise reduction: the cherry bombs or the emgo-style from 650central.com? Assuming the one from 650central is re-packable, I'll have some leeway with the sound dampening levels by loosening the packing.
