Bought this bike 5 years ago from gggGary. Torn her down every winter I've had it so far but I think I'm finally satisfied with it now…

Posted an album about the work from last winter if anyone wants to check it out. Lots of frame work and rephased the engine. Had a lot of fun ripping around on her the last half of the season. Already looking forward to some good road trips next summer!

I posted some pics a while back of my 77 XS but here are some more pics. I restored the bike with some upgrades but kept the stock look. It took about 3 years but the final product turned out nice.

Here's what 1984 XS650-SJ Heritage Special looked like before I started my build, what I'm hoping it will look like when I'm done with the build, and what it looks like right this minute. :) I hope I remember how to put it back together. lol.

Thanks Brassneck & Jetmchmarty,

I agree with that something had to be done with the screen.
I have trimmed it down so its not as bulbous as it was and has a slightly more aggressive/ modern look. I'll post another pic tonight and you can tell me what you think.

All my other bikes have darkened/ blacked out screens, so I like that look, but I think it would look to 'top heavy' on this one.

out there idea: Painting the inside of the screen white would extend the profile of the fairing into the screen but it would probably be too much white. I'd have to extend the red stripe too, so too much work !!
