Apparently the popularity of trikes is on the rise. Millennials and older riders and some women are gravitating to the type. I personally do not think that a trike is a motorcycle, side cars excepted. I do not salute trikes as I do real motorcycles, even Harley's.

I always laughed at trike riders, but as I age and start to think how hard it is to stop a lean once started on the real big bikes ...................

OK I still snigger a bit :D

But I roll around in hysterics watching the guys in
Slingshots.

You didn't vote? OK. Trikes are vehicles with three wheels. They either have two in front or two in the back. Just one less wheel than a car. So, vote...

Hi pete,
depends on the trike ,eh?
A motorcycle with a sidecar is still a motorcycle, for sure.
So is a 3-wheeler that's been made out of a motorcycle, whether it's a commercial conversion or a DIY.
Cam-Am Spyders and the like, more yes than no.
The Scott Sociable, Classic Morgans, 1930s BSAs, Reliants and bubblecars, no. They are 3-wheeled cars.
I'm the "love 'em anyway" vote.

NOT motorcycles! They are for people who are scared of getting their knee out!(sidecars exempt here!)

Some do look nice though.........

trikes scare me. not a motorcycle. I rode a trike bicycle and almost killed myself!! If riding a trike is a norm for you, then its safe. but if you grew up riding bicycles, then enduros, then street bikes, no thank you.
The sling shot is different. im pretty sure if I drove one, ide drive it like a cage.

I always Said if I my wife wanted to ride still (I don't think she will ever quit) and I had a limb problem I would buy a spyder. That's the only time I would own one.

Unicycles, bicycles, and motorcycles lean to corner. Segway drivers lean but the vehicle does not. By my definition if it doesn't lean in the curves it's not a cycle. Side hack riders are exempt because they are cool. Therefore, trikes are cars with three wheels.

I lump sidehacks in with all the other trikes. Unless they are on a racetrack then they are just insane.

I don't really lump them in with motorcycles, but I have to salute some of the better examples. Of course, I have a hard time including Gold wings and the traveling plastic wrapped suit case crowd in the motorcycle group either. Way back when motorcycles were invented it was all about a means of getting from point A to point B in a minimalist platform. Over the years strides have been made in the efficiency of that platform, and unfortunately extras have been marketed to the buyers that also want power windows in their sports cars, remote controls on their microwaves, and virtual pets. Just my opinion.:bike:
