Just bought this '75 from a Norwegian who has moved home from Australia. He brought the bike with him but back but he had given up making it run after a number of unsuccessful "upgrades". The wiring is a real mess so I think the best option is to replace the entire harness. The starter will turn the engine just a for a second or two before it disengages. The fork seals are leaking badly after they were replaced by prying the old ones out with a screwdriver and scoring the fork sliders.
But the compression is OK and there is no rust or crash damages, so I think this may be a manageable project during the rest of winter.

Here's my latest Resto Mod early Triumph Norton's were my inspiration

Thanks Brassneck & Jetmchmarty,

I agree with that something had to be done with the screen.
I have trimmed it down so its not as bulbous as it was and has a slightly more aggressive/ modern look. I'll post another pic tonight and you can tell me what you think.

All my other bikes have darkened/ blacked out screens, so I like that look, but I think it would look to 'top heavy' on this one.

out there idea: Painting the inside of the screen white would extend the profile of the fairing into the screen but it would probably be too much white. I'd have to extend the red stripe too, so too much work !!
I recommend graduate tint of red or amber to be used on that screen - could look a bit cocky, but You don't know until You don't try it on.
Real nice clean bike!

Thanks for the ideas Rad (ps. Love what you did with your bike.).

I've trimmed the screen a bit now and like the new profile of the screen, so will be leaving like that for now. I played around mocking up some color in the screen but came to the conclusion that colouring or tinting the screen would make the bike look too top heavy.

Here it is now.

1973 TX650 I bought six weeks ago, was set up as a cafe racer when I bought it. With some help from this forum I've got it running nicely and ridden 150 kms in the last 2 days to try clear out the cobwebs.

Imported by a guy named Zlatan in Melbourne from an owner named Kristaps from Southern California haha.
