Regardless of anyones personal opinions, outspoken or not, it will mean a lot of changes for the united states. The loss of a major conservative on the bench leaves a 4-4 split. There are a lot of sensitive issues on the docket for the next year. Often major issues like 4th amendment search rights and attorney rights end up very close decisions. Liberty cases and free speech cases, are often very close. Drug sentencing reviews on issues like Marijuana and trafficking issues are often very close. Just expect to see changes. The death of Scalia means far more than the loss of an outspoken justice, whether you like him or not. From an open minded perspective, the approaching election with a vacancy on the SCOTUS bench will invoke political chaos.
