Well. I sold my old red chop and now I'm on my way to a divorce after 20 years together......
So f it. Trading a welder for a 76. Wrenching and riding are the best therapy I can get.

Wish me luck ;)

Hi mrkil,
yeah, life's a bitch and then she dumps you.
27 years for me.
"I don't want to be married to you, I don't want to be married to anyone!"
Then she moved to Winnipeg to rent a suite from a lesbian.
At least the kids were adults by then.
My best advice is to keep the procedure as amicable as possible.
"Anything you can't agree on will be sold and the money given to lawyers"
Good luck, eh?

Moral support coming to you from the "shwa"!

Thanks guys.
It is amicable at this point. We are getting thing on paper with a mediator. We have already came to an arrangement.
I just need to take my mind off of things and what better way then with an xs ;)

Hi lakeview,
I googled Shwa and it sez it's a neutral vowel sound. WTF?
Back to stories about Barbie getting Ken's stuff.
Seems if divorcing couples cannot agree on who gets what the court will appoint a referee to accompany the couple to where the stuff is and they each get turns to pick one item at a time.
The referee flips a coin to see who starts.
She won the toss and picked his radial arm saw.
He then picked her swing-needle sewing machine.

Omg lol
Yeah that's not us. I told her she could have the house only on the stipulation that my half of the value is in lieu of child support payments. She agreed since it's paid for. And that we agreed that would cover me up until he turns 18. He's 5 now. That is 900 a month for 13 years. That equals the value of half the property now. When he is 18. It will be quite a nice nest egg for her and for my son

Been there, done that. That's why I called the bike I had at the time "Theropy". It was a '79 H-D Super - Glide back in '92. The wind blew her right out of my mind and the world was right again. Better things a comming.

Been there...Sorry to hear it.

I've been divorced for about 8-9 years, and I'm still paying child support (3 yrs to go for one, and 5 yrs to go for the other-- I see the light!!!) and it's so effing expensive (In my state, it's based on combined income, then some calculation and % of custody, etc...)

But, looking back it really was the best thing that could have happened to us, and we are both so much happier now. Plus, I get to be happy with my kids vs. being miserable. We still get along (we don't talk except about the kids, schedules, etc) but it's not a bad situation...and our kids are better off.

Granted, that didn't happen over night...but it does get better.

Good luck on finding a bike and finding peace.

I have a bike ready to go from a friend
Just need to take my welder over

Hi mrkil,
I reckon that my ancient 180A Lincoln buzzbox and el-cheapo oxy-acetylene
set put together would be a fair swap for a good quality bicycle.
What kinda welder is a fair swap for a working XS650?

That's funny

sorry to hear that buddy.:(

How can things get so bad so early on in a marriage ...its tragic really
Glad to hear that you are staying friends . You never know how things turn out. My partner and I split several times in the first 10 years but we have been back together now for the last 12 years and looks to stay that way hopefully.

Its hard work keeping a relationship going these days ...especially when expectations are so high and it is so easy to split up .
Bonne chance
