OK - thanks 2M, that explains my confusion and the reason for my problems. Engine number stamped starts 447, rods are marked 533. So - my bad, I didn't think to check the rods specifically. Hopefully if I get a set of the oversize 533 pistons they will do the job!

So apologies to cruzimage who sent me what I requested and a valuable lesson learned.

So - ordered a set of the proper 533 pistons for my project and a pack arrived from Japan today. Very excited - DOH! So now got to get them to send me the correct ones - this time I definitely got it right in my order!

A 65mm piston in a 75mm hole is going to be a little loose, lol.

Fair play to this seller, correct set of pistons arrived today shipped special delivery from Japan. Got to be impressed with the way they fixed the problem so the build shall continue! :bike:

Moto, if you're talking about the chamfer at the base of the bores, which helps with ring insertion, and helps reduce chance of ring damage, then there should be plenty enough chamfer remaining after boring to that size. A good bore shop would check for this anyway. But, to be sure, double-check it yourself...
