Plug chop, too lean I think?

Wanted to circle back and update this thread. Still waiting on jets, but with about 12 miles on these of general/city driving...here's how they look:

The black/smudge/cuts are from the dremel disc slips.

Thoughts?

Too lean if you ask me but I'm no expert! What about just fuel mixture screw adjustments instead of rejetting?

Thanks Louis, From what I know, the mixture screws are for setting the idle air/fuel mixture..which will slightly impact mid-range but not wide open throttle, which are addressed with the Main jets.

Using 5twins plugs as an example with a lot more miles I would say yours look good.

Ya, I'm feeling better about them and not as desperate to change things right away-- Unless I hear otherwise, of course. Ha ha.

But they may be on the leaner side of things overall--so I think I'll try a few adjustments in the coming month:

1) Raising the needle (lowering the clip) by one and see how that goes.

2) After that, I'll return the needle and swap out the main jets to one size bigger...and see how that goes.

Hopefully that will help get me close and one of those ought to make the most sense.

Thanks!

That's about how a fresh pair of plugs should look--after a full-throttle chop. Examining plugs after running around at a mix of throttle settings won't tell you what you want to know about the main jets.
