Any Machine Shops in Alabama with xs650 experience

I have got my bike torn down for a top end rebuild. I am ordering first over pistons and rings and was looking for a shop to bore my sleeves,clean up the head and check the seats on the valves. Does anyone have any experience with any shops in Alabama? Would just any machine shop be able to do this? This is my first time into a motor and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Any good automotive machine shop or speed shop should be able to do the job; Birmingham should have plenty of both. Avoid any place that looks like it might do a couple of jobs a month on a worn out boring bar.

Agreed! If you're willing to pay what it's worth to get top quality work, Bill Moeller of Bore Tech is the best in the business. I sent my cylinders there, and also had the bores treated with silicon carbide--worth every penny.
