Installing new bearings into my rear wheel after sandblasting and was wondering how tight the fit is supposed to be between the reducing collar and the bearing? My collar will not just slide into the bearing and I don't recall forcibly removing it. Is it supposed to slide into the bearing with relative ease or is it a pressed fit? Here's what I'm referring to in case the above doesn't make sense.

Thanks.

It is a pretty tight fit tolerances wise, but once it is lined up, should just slide together. Mine did. I got my 1980 bearings from mikesxs

Hmm, I used All Balls bearings. I'll pop it in the freezer tonight and see if it will slide in that way. Maybe the All Balls are a smidge smaller than the OEMs. Thanks.

Put the collar in the freezer overnight. Should shrink it enough to thump it in with a hammer and a block of wood underneath.

It's a tight fit but not super tight. It should tap in pretty easy but does need that tapping. It doesn't just drop in.
