I now have about 7000 k on my 77D and its just keeps makin me happy!
As much as i like to twist the throttle i have found that ridin in the 4 to 5 grand rpm seems to
be the sweet spot for this motor when its diled in.Under 3500 is slightly jerky with the primitive advance
and diaphram carbs and over 5 grand the motor feels ,well, just strung out and not in its happy place.
After tons off maintenance problem posts its nice to finally just enjoy the bike for what it is.
I thing anyone who takes a spin on one off these well set-up cant argue that it just feels rite!!

Good for you! Sounds Great! Working to get to that point on my 77D. Where abouts in Ont are you?

Ya, no shortage of great roads for you to cruise. Just not enough time. Can you get spark plugs up there? Can't find any NGK's in London. Ordered some online and wrong ones shipped. Finally able to order some Champions at APC. So far the hardest thing about this redo is getting plugs. Lol.

Any half decent bike shop in your area should carry them! Very odd that you can't get any!

Ya you would think Airwolfie. BP7ES are very hard to find in Canada. Used to get them everywhere. None of the bike shops or auto suppliers in town can get them anymore. NGK Canada rep said they were discontinued in Canada in 2002. They have been replaced with BPR7ES and don't want resistor plugs. I am dealing with an online supplier who is working on it and have ordered Champion equivalents in the meantime.
Ah the joy of these old bikes.
