Is the rear frame loop necessary?

I am building a brat/cafe xs and cut the back loop off the frame about 1" back from the top of the shocks, because it was sticking out past the seat. Should I bother welding some sort of aftermarket loop to the frame or is it fine as is? Anyone on here riding without a rear frame loop? Thanks.

Mine is a tracker so ymmv. I used well nuts to secure the rear of the seat, rear tank bolt secures the front.

Is the rear frame loop necessary?
