My wife's grandpas bayonet from WWI
Like to mount it
Suggestions?

Well, not like that. There's a good chance the blade will turn with engine vibration and give you a high speed rear tirectomy.
I'd use a full leather sheath with a strap over the handle to stop the bayonet from falling out.
I'd securely mount the sheath to the left front fork lower, using the extra set of brake caliper lugs on that side.

It's positioned to cut where your stock swing arm bolt cracks, like an omen.

You might want to get an opinion from your local police service as well. They may look at it as less a precious historical artifact and more like a weapon.

You reach down to swing out your kickstarter to start your bike, a policeman is in the area, he thinks you're reaching for the bayonet................he pulls his gun, three shots, you're dead.

Hi Scott,
the likelihood of that happening depends on the OP's ethnicity, don't it?
Mind you, the rookie RCMP Officer did have a shitfit about the (non-working) Sten gun strapped to my friend's totally WW2 kitted out Dispatch Rider 16H Norton until his Sargeant quietly told him to stop being an asshole.

I don’t usually participate in threads like this but I think you are missing a golden opportunity.

Have it nicely mounted along with some photos and the service medals of the man involved. Include a brief history of his service. It now becomes a piece of family history and pays him due respect.

Or give it to a family member that can appreciate it.

Sticky fingers is what I was thinking, soon to disappear. Unless you park your bike, stuff it down your boot or pants before you enter places of business. Right place, right security, you'll have a swat team on your ass.

Thanks guys,I was only trying to stimulate a little conversation. It is an heirloom and will be treated with respect.
Now, how about mounting a pair of sai?
