Is there a way to contact a seller through Craigslist other than sending them an email from your account?

Here's my conundrum. I have contacted a seller 3 times via email. This was their requirement. They posted no phone number. Still no reply and they have since updated their ad.
So I'm thinking its either a little shady or my emails are getting thrown into their junk box.
I am trying to figure out how to contact them in case of the latter.

Thanks

If they post/construct the ad where replying by e-mail is the only option, that is the only option through that ad.
Try another CL ad with the title being to the "seller of XXX_____".
I understand your frustration and this is a major hassle. Even though you put in the subject line something like "response to your CL ad" or a simple "CL ad" they don't respond.
I've been trying to obtain an electric oven for free and out of the 3 ads I've emailed NONE have replied. It really boils down to etiquette.

Thanks, WR.
I did just make an ad for them to contact me. Extremely frustrating as they lowered the price an hour ago.
"Hello, McFly, I was going to give you the asking price 2 days ago!!!!"

anymore I've gotten so fed up with folks on craigslist, that if there is not phone number listed i don't even bother. Sometimes ill send one email if its something i really want. Then, if they even do respond, its usually some scam story: A) I'm deployed overseas and can't show the bike, but if you wire transfer the money to me ill ship this $1200 motorcycle to you for free B) I'm dying of cancer and can't show you, but if you wire transfer the money . . . its usually the same crap. sometimes clever variations, but the same crap. I've found that if you actually get somebody on the phone 9 times of 10 its a legit transaction, just seems safer to me.

There's a set of GSXR forks posted for $25, seals pulled and no clamps on Craigs. I tried to buy them when he had them listed for $50. Same story with a nice condition Lincoln Buzz Box for a song and a dance....I guess if the price is too good...
Flag that crap, help clean that mess up.

Craigslist is flaky as all hell. It's the simplest thing to use and yet some people can't even figure it out. I've been trying to buy a Klymers manual for $5 from a guy two towns away. 3 or 4 days later he'll respond asking when I want to get it. Then won't respond for another couple of days again

And don't get me started on the fucktards who don't delete the ad when the item is sold. Gahh!!!!!!!

I`ve been trying to buy a 81 titled frame on CL for a week now with no response. Tried Text, email and phone call with no luck. I run a continuous ad on CL to buy XS650`s and have pretty good luck most of the time. If the deal ends with a hand shake and a thank you you can`t do much better than that.

That's cool, Bill. But it's still absurd that you have to run an ad to get the attention of someone who ran an ad.

When I first started looking for an XS, I found a '72 in Southern California , same thing the guy provided no contact info. I emailed him thru Craigslist a couple of times and sent him my contact info, and got no response and gave up. About a month later he sent me this very illuminating text. " I still got the bike."
No contact info, no other information. Yeah I don't think so.

Takes all kinds, and I swear I have tried to buy something from every dammed one of em.
One hint; try sending from a different email. I keep a gmail account just for the odd account that blocks my bsupply.us address.
Several deals have stretched out for years before they were consummated.
There is an old hermit in a tiny town near me, is supposed to have 12-15 bikes in his shed garage. I have never been able to make it far enough in to confirm. talked to him 4 or 5 times, been to his place 4 times so far. He mentioned them in a newspaper classified when he was selling a pick up...........
Weathervane man came out with a pump shot gun and started shooting (skyward) when I pulled in his yard spent several hours with him, a very interesting life story and I left with a titled XS1.

There is a guy locally that constantly runs an ad for his old Japanese bikes and, "Email me for a list of currents bikes for sale..."
So I bit and emailed him. He later called me, but just rambled on forever about all the bikes he's owned and the shop he used to own and the cars he used to own and...... Finally I said I was out of time and asked the price, for the 3rd time, about a CB350. Of course it was a crazy number and I said no thanks. It was more of a want ad to ramble.

Yeah my guy is about the same deal, practically a cookie cutter of your guy. But I never have been able to get to a price. Started with a KZ1300 "he had" so been working on this since about 1999. Some day there will be an auction.

I've looked on craigslist for a lot of things. I've never got through to anyone. They don't respond to e-mails, won't answer phone calls.
I don't look on craigslist anymore.

I'm dealing with another one now. She listed a rower for $500. Apparently realized she underpriced it a little. Now she's emailing everyone back and trying to set up some sort of sealed bid auction! Jiminy Christmas!

The guy who sold me the bike told me, when I called to confirm our meet-up time, that another guy called and said he was willing to pay the first asking price. Ya, I emailed 4 times over 2 days and was willing to pay the first price. Not my fault you dropped it. I even gave the seller the option of calling the other guy back.
