The Jap Slap build by Back Porch Choppers

My vision was more like this. Maybe I can sneek the other XS motor in that frame.

Got down to buisness today and finished up smoothing out the left down tube and got a good start on the right side down tube. By the time it is said and done my files will have touched every inch of this frame.

Been raining today so I've not done aything to the XS yet bit I did move my shop around. Now I can pull my bike in without taking up a lift. And I read the rules and it says nothing about posting non XS 650 bikes. So here is a pic of my Triumph I hist finished.

I woke up this morning and it was storming outside. So I got my fab tools out and designed some neck gussets. Got me a templet made and then drove the 30 min to my homies place that jas a plasma table.
Two hours of bull an hour and fifty min. of bull shitting and 10 min. of work and I was away for the 30min. ride back to the house with overkill 1/4" plate steel neck gussets. Last two pics the gusset is just tacked in to get a pic for the guy I'm building it for.

Hey Larry, welcome to the forum... just saw you had a build thread. The moderators here are pretty laid back with things and usually don't jump in unless folks aren't playing nice.

You think that thing will be ready for the xs650 Fest and Chopoff in August? I've got something pretty wild planned if I can pull it off.

Your bro is a schmo, rake that neck and spoke her man I'm on the same shit as you.
Hi Larry,
just mebbe your bro ain't a schmo , he don't want to channel Peter Fonda, he just wants a bike that's actually rideable?
With forks that work nice, a front brake that is more than a rule-cheater and wheels that'll accept tubeless tires?
Just sayin'.
But back to an earlier post. Puss pad? My dad used to call it a flapper bracket. Back when a TC MG was called a tart trap.

Thanks PJ, I'm hoping to have it done in a few months if parts ever start showing up. The guy I'm building it for works for the same company as I, we've been putting in hella hours all over the US with skeleton crews and there is no sign of work slowing down any time soon.

Sorry I hav not posted anything in a while guys I've been side tracked by a 1976 Shovelhead and my regular job. I'll be getting back after this dude hopefully this weekend and get some pictures up for you guys. Ryan should be getting the engine wrapped up shortly.

Parts are starting to arrive. 277 rephased 700 big bore beast fron Ironheartcycles, chrome Biltwell keystones, chrome 4" p clamp risers, TC Bros fake oil tankand battery box.

I like the look. Eyeballing trail it looks good with those rockers. Any idea how much trail that leaves you with?
BobbedSled, I do not know yet that project is a ways off and was just loosly thrown together with parts from the parts closet. When the time comes new rockers will be made and trail set correctly.

Puttin in work today on The Jap Slap frame. I figured since parts are finally showing up I'd better get busy. Welded in the neck gussets, welded up the stem lock hole, massaged the frame a little more. I'm not yet done but a lot closer.
