Anyone else know anything about this? I recently picked up an old pair of "xs650" headers... That's how they were described anyways...I knew by the pics that the flange looked funny(not typical xs650 looking). But the price was right so I figured I'd take a chance... After receiving I did some research to find out where/who made them. And all I could come up with was they look very similar to Mac 2-2 headers (but a thicker flange and the pipe themselves r thicker walled(not like super thin last Mac headers I had. Felt like tin foil)). And that the exhaust clamps looked like cb350 clamps....found one other post online that someone was selling there cb350 exhaust and they posted that it fits cb350 cb360 and xs650!!!
Any thoughts on this...? I'll take some pics soon....

clamps r beat... But fit!!!

Not original XS650 headers.......Could be aftermarket or made by anyone.

Plenty of pics on this site to reference parts before buying. A question, and pics if possible, before hand helps as well................

  • Huh???? Bought these while ago... I know they not original...read my message...I bought these full well knowing that they may not be xs650 headers. But they look so similar and the price($25) so I gave it a shot....with my research I've found (IMO) that they seem to be cb350 headers...but they fit the xs650 also..also could be they r xs650 headers and cb350 exhaust clamps bolt up to xs650....question was has anyone else come across this???? Has anyone ever used cb350 pipes???? This is my 4th set of pipes.....thanks

Well Infantilebehavior, ................Maybe you could fit them, if they fit and tell us your findings and recommendations...................You seem to know a whole lot.I was giving you my advice, if its not wanted don't answer...................Your heading indicates a lack of knowledge you then claim to have.............

And i see your screen name says your an Ex Spurt.....to each his own i guess. Ya your condesending posts r not wanted. Thanks.

Read the post. I bought them! Ive done my research. The clamps r 100% cb350 and they go/came with/fit these pipes! They fit my xs650! Has anyone else ever heard tried/heard of, or have any thoughts on this(cb350 pipes on xs650)? Experts not needed. Just figured I'd start a conversation...

I've seen some Honda CB350 TT pipes that drop down quite low, below the frame, maybe makes them long enuff to reach the XS650 head.

Thought I'd take a look at the exhaust crush gasket dimensions, and see if they come close.

Extracts from the Sudco Volume #37 catalog, and the K&L 2014 Hardparts catalog:

Sudco-Vol37-Exhaust01.jpg Sudco-Vol37-Exhaust02.jpg Sudco-Vol37-Exhaust03.jpg K&L-2014-Exhaust.jpg

If you study those for a moment, you can find the exhaust gasket dimensions in ID, OD, Thickness.

The Yamaha XS650 exhaust gasket is
90430-38054, Vesrah #VE-2005
39.10 x 49.00 x 4.8mm

The Honda 350 twin exhaust gasket is
18291-286-306, Vesrah #VE-1006,
38.5 x 46.5 x 4.8mm

The Honda 350 twin gasket is slightly smaller than the XS650 exhaust gasket, but it'll fit in there. So, the Honda 350 exhaust flange should also fit in there, maybe about 0.100" smaller in diameter. The next question would be the exhaust clamp studs, length and spacing.

Interesting that the Honda 450/500 twins have 44.2 x 52 x 4mm gaskets.
Much larger...
