Oh yeah that is a frankenbike. '75 gas tank. 35 mm forks, rear shocks probably from the bike the donor motor is from. On the tool bar click tech then navigate to Skulls ID thread. Your frame vin should be on the right side of the neck, the motor vin can be found on the front of the motor right side below the motor mount.

Cheers again weekend rider thought that was the case just done the check and it's saying frame is a 72-73 tx so must be an early tx then. Is there a guide on here to identify parts to years?

Got a doosy there. Frame is early, 70-73 so would in all likely be a 72. ..............Those 35mm forks are 77 and later so the triple tree stem would have been changed from the early 70-73 frame type to fit the 72 Frame....................... Tank as mentioned is a 75, check under the seat, i think the early tanks were a different length, see if it sits on the early rear mount......................... BS34 carbs, (indicates they are from an 80 or later bike), but the 82/83 carbs were painted black from the factory, (could have been cleaned off), .................Ignition is something to be checked, If there are no points under the chrome cam covers, then it will be a Factory TCI ignition motor. Indicates its from an 80 or later bike. if it still has the TCI ignition the wiring will have to have been changed/swamped over from the later bike.

keep in touch and post lots of pics so we can help you diagnose..................

It really is a mix of wierd and wonderful parts then! I believe the tank did sit on the stock mount if I'm honest.they are definitely bs34 carbs but weren't black in colour. There are no points either. I will have to try find the engine number to cross check it with I'll try and find some more pics

Engine no is on the front right, (sitting on bike), of the engine down by the front engine bracket. numbers are vertical.

I guess we should ask.......does it run?.........this will tell a lot about the conversion
