For sale is a 1982 Yamaha XS650 Heritage Special with only 5187 miles. I am the third owner of this bike. The first owner rode it very little and it was stored in his garage until the second owner bought it about 8 years ago. The second owner then went through the bike and put it back in good shape to ride. I bought it from the second owner five years ago. I really enjoyed this bike, it's fast and fun, but I just don't have time to ride it. It's a great vintage bike for you to customize, chop or ride as is.

The bike runs well but the back tire leaks at the rim so the tire needs to be re-mounted or replaced. The horn does not work. I put a new battery in it last year and the kickstarter ensures you never get stranded by a dead battery. The tires are probably about 8 years old, they were replaced by the second owner and were still pretty new when I got the bike 5 years ago. A good all-weather cover is included, as well as the owners manual and a Haynes service manual. Given the age of the bike, it is sold as is with no warranty.

Price is $1600, which I think is a very fair price with the low miles on this bike. No joy rides. A serious adult buyer with cash in hand and a valid motorcycle license may take a short accompanied test ride.

I also have a largely complete parts bike and a lot of extra parts (including an additional engine besides the one on the parts bike, a seat, a tank and a set of spoked wheels). I don't know the year of the parts bike. I will sell the parts bike and parts with this bike for $300 or without the bike as a lot for $500.

Local pickup only in Berea, KY. PM with any questions.

The bike has sold. I still have the parts bike but the extra wheels and the gas tank went with the bike I sold. So there is a parts bike that looks mostly complete and an extra motor and a couple boxes of parts, some or all may be off of the the parts bike. I checked the license number on the parts bike and it has been junked so assume it would be potentially challenging to get it titled. I'm not interested in selling parts off of it at this time. Will consider offers on the whole lot, local pickup only.

LOL--My plan had been to lead or follow in another vehicle, but as it turned out he did not need to take it for a test ride, he knows bikes, could easily see what he was getting. I fired it up and we loaded it into his truck.
