Hi,

I have a new engine. Made a dumb mistake and over-lightened the crank, runs like crap for the street.
When the engine was built I removed the starter and solenoid, starter switch, kick start only. All items, crank, starter, solenoid, switch and starter gears need to be installed.

Just looking for reasonable estimates as to how much time should be taken for a skilled mechanic, familiar with the motor to remove the engine from the bike, tear down the motor to the point required, source the parts (used I would think), install, reassemble, reinstall the engine in the bike and tune the bike. I want to get the job done properly but don't want to get taken advantage of.

Thanks

Did you take all the weight off of the counterweights or the rotor?

If it was in the rotor, I would start by simple replacing that with a factory one (such that it is neutrally balanced as to not add any imbalance to your assembly) and see if that adds the proper inertia you want.

Otherwise, I think you're looking at probably 8 hours, but I'm no expert on these.

Yes. Will not hold a idle unless I am tending the throttle. Once off and running down the road all is fine and strong. Need more spinning mass to get to smooth out and idle.
