This may sound crazy but I've always loved the look of the rear shocks on the xs650s.. But would it be possible to put them on the back of a hardtail? I'm not a huge bike guy but I already ordered the shocks on impulse and have the access to fabricate them to fit. Have any of you seen anything like that??

This is my bike.. Just for reference.

You could hang shocks on it. . . . . somehow somewhere but they wouldn't be functional and look kinda stupid. It would be a one of.

I like the look of the springs.. Not worried too much of the function.. As dumb as that may sound

It's tough man..i have a hardtail but something really wants me to have the look of rear shocks just like this picture. Might look goofy to some but I really dig it

Yeah exactly like that.. But my only complication. Isn't that a soft tail and not a hardtail like mine?

Hey Bobby,
The only way you can really have shocks on a hardtail is with a plunger set-up.

The examples above are brats. Hardtails have no swing arm.

Even if I made a bracket under the rear of the seat and braced the springs from that to somewhere near the rear wheel? I only spent 40 on the springs so really not a big issue. But like I said fabrication isn't a real issue.. Just curious if it's actually ever been done. Functionality isn't huge for me at the point.. I got the bike practically for free so I'm open to anything.. Thanks

Yeah, weld, bolt or bungy cord those shocks to the side of your hard tail frame. After that I wouldn't be seen in public with it. No one will be fooled by it.

Have you been a member on here before, with a different name?
