Hey Shawn the Calendar Looks great
and I will buy one.

But, I'm bringing this general Forum point up again "Why Can't The Build Threads Be Brought Back?"
We would have so many more entrants for the calendar voting in future years and it would include many more of the Forum members bikes for us to see.
I don't care if some on this Forum don't like the fact that the bikes get Chopped and Bobbed, and they feel are unsafe, that's not a reason to exclude this part of what used to be one of mine, and i will speak for others here, One of our favorite parts of the Forum.
But it's a fact that will not change that they get Chopped and Bobbed regularly and it's a large part of the XS650 community.
So why Doesn't what I consider to be the best XS650 online website have a section for this large part of the community, to show us what they are doing with their XS's??
I may make a voting thread (once I figure out how) for this purpose to show there is a large amount of Forum Members that would like to see this brought back.

But, Like I said nice Calendar, I will be ordering mine as soon as I leave this.
Cheers all  Great Looking Bikes All that entered.

I popped in my order for two (office & garage)!!

RTPDJ - I may have missed something, but I don’t think that build threads were removed/banned etc. were they?

I'm not sure I understand what the issue is here.:umm:

Go to the garage page. Hit 'Post New Thread'. Put "Build Thread - Chopper" in subject line. Write up a first post. Add a picture or two because the forum loves pics. Hit 'Create Thread'.

Poof.

Build thread created. Featuring a chop.

From what I've observed, even the most preservationist members here appreciate quality and creative fabrication.

Seems to me you are crying fire when the smoke you see is probably just a welder.

Where are they then is my question, if you do a search you can find the old ones from prior to the website update. Unless i'm blind they don't exist as something you can start a new one of that can be seen. If it exists, please, someone enlighten me.

There's no heading of build thread??? I must be blind

So here's my point.
there was a minimal amount of bikes nominated this year compared to others. It took awhile to get the ones that were nominated, in fact they allowed the nominations to go longer because of the minimal number that were posted.
I looked around for bikes i wanted to nominate, i dug around a while but found very few posts with bikes that had been built modified n such over the past year.
When I did a search for build threads, you will find them alright, but the last actual build thread tagged as such was in October 2015.
The build threads were where you could, see others bike builds, modifications and so on. Anyone who has looked at the build threads know what i'm talking about. When the Website was updated it was a catagory that was not added, for whatever reason.
Since I'm blind or too lazy i guess to search and find these new build threads that exist according to the above comments, I was wanting the catagory added to the garage section or wherever it is appropriate, for new build threads, so that they all appear in one place. I'm just letting all know that I for one would appreciate it for Calendar Nominations for future years, and I like to see them for inspiration and viewing pleasure.
As far as bringing the issue up here is so would make it that the Bike restorations and builds could be more easily found when the calendar nominations roll around next year.
So lets bring back something that i'm sure many liked looking through
That's my point
I won't bring it up again since apparently i'm the only one that has issue with it. Unless you agree, then either like this post or make your opinion known.
Good day all
Oh, yeah i bought mine, I have all of the previous ones of them up in a row in my office in my garage and turn all of them, to same month to see the older winners from previous years.

The "old site" never had categories. It just encouraged the use of tags and featured them. We have tags here too. http://www.xs650.com/tags/

The tag you're looking for is http://www.xs650.com/tags/build/

The problem is that when they aren't highlighted like they were before, people don't use them as much. I intended on featuring them here, but didn't get around to it and most people didn't seem to care.

Now for the idea of creating actual categories... I've resisted, but considered it over the years and even gave in on the regional section.. and people can't even seem to use that right. The regional section should be for regional specific topics only, but people constantly post general things there.

This discussion should happen elsewhere. Let it die in this thread and start a new thread in The Classroom (where you'll also find post that don't belong).

Went to order a calendar and it doesn't have a postage price or a combined shipping rate. Got caught 2 years ago when i was charged freight on each of the 2 calendars i bought............

When I used Paypal to buy two, the combined reduced shipping rate appeared in the final stages of the purchase.

@650Skull, Yes it does, but it needs your location first. Add to cart, then change how many you want, then click Check Out. After you enter your country it will show you the shipping options further down on the page. For two calendars to Australia is $6.99 for shipping. For one is also $6.99. Five is $13.99 for shipping. I didn't check any other quantities.

If you can take special requests. . . . would you write DO NOT FOLD SPINDLE OR MUTILATE on my envelope? My mailman likes to. I think he has a form of OCD that requires sharp creases.
