So I'm going for this stance and have no idea what size lowering kit I need? Is that all I need? any help would be much appreciated thanks

Ian

unladen the rear looks like it's sitting higher than stock but the springs look light so it'll prolly squat when sat on. yeah hughes offers fork drop kits. If you like to ride compared to bar hopping don't go too low "sparky".
Then again you're in Iowa, closest corner is two counties over?

I ordered the visual impact kit and I have looked at the for lowering kits at hughs. I just don't know if I should get 1" 2" or 3" drop. I also have 11 3/4" (I believe) shocks coming

Could order either. Its really up to you. 3" drop is gonna have a noticeable impact on your ride. You'll remove about half your travel. Cutting 3 inches of the springs will increase the spring rate. 1" won't have as much impact but probably won't give you the look you want. You can also drop the bike about an inch with an aftermarket billet crown. Perhaps a 2" spacer is a happy medium. Down the line you could contact Racetech and get some new springs made instead of using hacked up 40 year old battlers. Tell them you have spacers and the length, and they will make you a custom spring with an appropriate spring rate.

If this helps, probably 3" drop on the black and white one, & 2" on the red one. These are both Hugh's bikes so you know that's the spacer you would get.

Monstercraftsman is another option for your bobber, but doesn't have the same drop to the seat. Again, just another option.

Hi Gary,
while Iowa may be short on sweeping curves in the road it's likely to have it's fair share of vehicles
driven by blind &/or stupid &/or chemically impaired operators
not to mention those dreaded cell-phone yakking SUV-driving soccer moms running red lights.
A bike that's well suited to emergency collision avoidance is always the preferred option.
