anyone know where I can get one of these

I went into the courthouse in Redding one time.... and the officer there said no knives no belt buckle and are those steel capped toes in your boots ? after giving him my knife, belt boots and Keys he gave me my belt and boots back and said ok you can go in , pick up your other things on the way out..... I did and after 2 hours of waiting and some short B.S. I came out and said ok I want my keys and knife please
the guy looked at me with a blank look and said can you describe them? I said the keys have my dog tags on them and the knife is old and battered .... he puts a tray up on the bench and says see if you can find your knife... there was at least 50 knives in there ! I found mine easy as it was in it's home made old boot sheath that was bailing wired together, had been for decades !.... in the mean time he is going through another tray with at least 30 key rings in it..... I said hay there they are... as I leaned over to help him find them .... he said "Get back !" all startled... so I straightened up and as he recovered he said um.... where?... so I pointed ... ,no the other one, yah that's it....
and so I got my knife and keys..... the next time I went in there I left everything in the truck under the seat..... talk about paranoid ! but after going in there i can see why they have reason to be paranoid.... everyone in there was Pissed and hopping mad ! .... traffic citations that cost HOW MUCH ? your out'a yout flipping mind ! ...... i figured $100 bucks because it was a photo citation.... no they wanted $500+ so after pleading hardship case with the Judge and they never did let me state my reasons, they reduced it to $250... and pay the clerk ( in other words get out! ) so I went to the clerk and said I can't possibly pay you as much as you guys want she said that's fine sir we take payments !
so for the next 6 months i made payments ! ......
i could only think what kind of fine do you get if you SPEED now days !!!! GADS !
....... ( you'ed have to get a mortgage on the house! ).....
Bob......

Cool! I keep a variety of saved searches going all the time on fleabay and the local CL for items I want need that aren't time critical.

good story Bob ...I've got a mental picture of some Court House jobsworth leaping back thinking you're about to stab him for a bunch of keys :laugh2:

Peanut, sorry about the Corgi collection but good news about your knob. When I was 14 years old I cut my hand badly and severed some tendons. My father made a claim on my behalf under New Zealand's Accident Compensation scheme. I never saw any of that money - Another Grudge!

Tsk .....Fathers eh !
Never found out why my Father hated me all my life. When I was about 8 years old He told me he wished he had had one of my friends as a Son instead of me ...? what a thing to say to your Son.
I nursed him for 7.5 years until he died at 93 last year and I still never discovered why . Still he left me his house so I guess that makes up for 67 years of neglect and verbal abuse he gave me,,,oh and the Corgi cars ;)

Someday - the giant warehouse that is full of all the penknives that were confiscated from all the air travellers over the last 15-18 years will be discovered, opened and people will be reunited with their childhood birthday presents from their grandfathers.
It was opened years ago. They called it ebay :)
I bought three Leatherman knives that had been confiscated by light-fingered security men (I suspect at Heathrow, given the location of the sellers) seeking to augment their income by flogging them on an auction site.
I think I paid a fiver each for them, a fraction of their new price - and they were near enough new.

LOL I love knives ! I could spend my entire SSI check in that store and never look back ! LOL
Bob............

what is it about boys and knives ? :)

Whilst fishing as a boy I spotted a piece of bone sticking out of the riverbank.
I tugged on the 'bone' and out popped a beautiful sheaf knife with 8" blade and and chunky antler handle !
The thrill of that find was eventually aclipsed by finding an abandoned Webley & Scott air pistol a few years later :D

Does "knob" mean the same in the States as it does here? :)

In Canada (and I think in the US), the word "knob" means a device upon which one might push, pull or rotate to exert a force....

....or it can be a derogatory term for a person (invariably a male) who might otherwise be termed an @sshole. ;)

In the UK it also means this, but because it's the word for a "gentleman's naughty bits".

BTW I found this

They look pretty cool. But then they should be for £33 "a pop".

Those are very nice indeed - but the price is simply ....silly.

Why don't them make it £1330 each - and really make some money!

33 squids thats ridiculous ! it never ceases to surprise me how many gullible people there are out there that have way more money than they have sense !

Even though I have an OEM NOS part arriving soon , I just couldn't resist trying to make one from the bits I bought on ebay last week.

Its crude but strong and effective and would definitely do the job and hold the covers on.

One Knob or willy head £2.75 pence to you sir, including the split spring pin.
Took some careful drilling with a hand held drill as I do not have a drill press :(

Nicely done Peanut. I have been thinking on this as well and thought of maybe using a hitch clip pin in place of the split pin. I think there would be enough room to install it through the bottom opening of the frame mount tab.
