Has anyone seen this video and read posts about those spiral looking led bulbs to use in house hold lights set off a radiation detector? Anyone know any facts about this?
From what I read the LED bulbs do not use high frequently power to drive them. The compact fluorescent bulbs (Spiral) use the higher operating frequencies and this gives the interference that affects Geiger counters at close range resulting in the false high activity readings. This high reading goes away after approximately 1 minute when the electronics warm up and switch to a lower operating voltage. Apart from this there is very little else I know, or think I know on the subject.
