Upgrade to Hugh's PMA/Pamco or CDI?

I beg to differ Fred. Your XS11 may look like the others but I'll bet the ID of the threaded stalk is larger or they used smaller wire.
I'll wait to see how Aldo got around that.
At that time, I didn't look for lighter guage wire; I was focused on getting the wires on the Virago dual-filament sockets that I was using into the XS650 headlight bucket, so drilled the stock 650 stems out a bit. Sometime after doing this, I read a post from a member who worked on aircraft (can't remember his name now) who did use a lighter guage aircraft wire that allowed him to pass two through the stock stem.

Hi Skull,
thanks for that. The best I could do is:- I have a boxful of them salvaged from several Yamahas and they all look the same to me.
Except for some have different shaped amber lenses, one set has red lenses and the DT360 set blew their bulbs when installed.
(DT360 ran 6 Volt lights! Who knew? Not me until it was too late. Ah well, a 12Volt bike couldn't have used them anyway.)

OK so if I order this will I get a single element socket, like the 650? Or will I get a double element socket like Fred's XS11?
That is a single element socket. 42X-83310-K0-00 is the dual element socket used in front signals for Yamaha Virago, Maxim, and VMax models from mid-80's to mid-90's. This is the socket I transplanted into my 650 turn signal housings from salvage Virago front signals bought on eBay. Also replaced the 650 lenses with the Virago lenses and trim rings - just a cosmetic thing.

Wer, I can't guarantee, only what i have found and see.....Seems the 1100G and SG are different. G, (freds Bike), has oblong indicators, SG has the same as ours.....i was using Boats.net for the Part no's. Diagrams show both front and rear Indicators have a single wire, the front indicators 650,750,850,1100SG are the same part no. The fish files state the part no's for the indicators from 80 and later XS650's correspond with the XS1100SG, both front and rear

My XS850G has single wire indicators and look the same as the XS650
From An XS850 80G Parts manual..........Not boats.net.
