Spring is toast. Was wondering if came as a set somewhere
Is it not drawn back with a coil spring on the brake lever (like the drum brake)?
OK now I see three or four coils in OP's post.
I think what you are calling a spring is just a clip that retains the boot on the rod???

Follow up on this link https://www.partzilla.com/product/yamaha/90506-23204-00?ref=65e72eac7f65965f5dc0a90f4045e351bd8efcf4 for other Yamaha models that have the same spring...........I checked on fleecebay and there are some......may have to do some negotiating............and type in the models/year and center-stand or variations..........
