WTF did I do now? The Ersatz Indian

How is this going end?

  • Sold before you even touch it

  • sold as soon as it runs

  • Allison is going to claim and ride it.

  • gggG is going to fix it and ride it to the vintage rally in NC

  • This'll be the last straw ggGary'll be (fully) around the bend.

Scott; it's completely faux, the stock alternator and ignition are in place and doing their thing quite happily.

I'm thinking those side covers are (aircraft??) wheel pants, off???? but maybe some scooter part. shrug.

I dunno, gggGary. I'm kinda liking that rear fender.... Is it swing arm mounted? It really doesn't look half-bad with all the nonsense removed...

So, that's a CRASH BAR? At first, from the first pictures, I thought the crash bar was the left head pipe contorted to clear the faux generator. There does seem to be a pretty good design under some of that nonsense.

yes crash bar. Some (probably needed) heat shields on pipes. It sits a bit smaller than I thought it would, needs a much better handle bar bend, seat springs are way too weak. the usual maint. needed everywhere.

I could use those fenders right now. I've always thought that minimizing the fenders on some builds is a big mistake. Then after cutting the fenders down to nothing, they ditch them altogether. Those fenders and stays would be Ideal for many builds.

Now its cleaned up l quite like it. In that video shot the rear suspension moves nicely. Keep it, register it, and ride it! Will be a cool 35 - 50mph bike for riding to church on Sunday.

Fuel lines are working, though I agree they look like a disaster waiting to happen.
Yes a builder sold it to the PO He's had it about 4 years... No doubt the donor was a crash victim.
Allison is out of the running she wants this;

Actually, while they do look a little....unusual, the Honda Pacific Coast is, I am told, a darned nice bike with a HUGE capacity for luggage, clothing, hair dryers, a blender, sports equipment, camping gear, photo albums, gardening equipment, a dog,....you name it.

There was one for sale up here last week for $1500 CDN (that’s around $17.68 USD) and apparently, it is a runner and complete - not wrecked or dropped.

Asking ain't getting Scott, just keeping options open. The early PC800 has less than 6K miles, maintenance done, and appears pristine. Period Piece may be on the market soon.

Wow, do you really think someone would give you 2K for this bike? 650 selling prices must be much higher in your area than mine, lol. But, I suppose if they talked you down a few hundred, which I'm thinking is your plan as well, they'll think they got a smokin' deal and you'll be happy too.
