Hello all, time to throw out some feelers. I am contemplating my next project. Most likely another XS650 project, but one from the ground up and a little more custom. In order to fund that, and clear it with the boss, it's 'one in, one out!' she says.

So here I am. Possibly ready to part with my loved, rebuilt 1976 XS. There is a fairly exhaustive rebuild thread within the forum, but here are the basics, thanks for reading.

- Motor completely rebuilt, 1st over piston bore, w/ matching new pistons. Original mileage was 11k. About 1k on the rebuild.
- Matching motor/frame SN.
- Upgraded 3rd gen. 35mm forks & 4 piston Brembo caliper, w/vapor honed 1pc. rotor.
- Freshly powder coated frame, tank, covers, and all matching small parts.
- Fresh stainless fasteners throughout.
- Tank has been lined by professionally lined at GTL in LA/CA.
- 18" front and rear wheels with new rims (wider than OEM) laced to stock hubs
- New Pirelli Sport Demon tires
- 100% new electrics, with a Pamco e-advance system, stock alternator, new Electrosport combo R/R.
- Title in hand
- No leaks.

$3000 obo. I might be crazy, but this is where my gut told me to start, based on the work and expense that went into this thing. That said, I am a reasonable man, and open to reasonable conversations to make a deal. The bike is located in south Orange County, CA.

There is a lot I can mention, as I know this bike in and out. I am happy to discuss with any serious buyers. I have a ton of spare parts, an extra motor, engine stand, etc. I have spent a few years in 'Yamaha' headspace, and love it! These 650's are fantastic machines with a great amount of product and support still in the market.

Ask away, questions welcome.

Damn George. I understand, but still, damn. There's a lotta blood, sweat and tears in the beautiful bike. Good luck with your sale and am looking forward to your next project!

Bob, robinc, you guys are TOO kind. Thanks for the support! Yes, the bug is alive and well. I have already found a donor frame from a late Standard model, and a motor... So a new thread will be in the works before too long!

Well, I sure can’t take it but that would be an extraordinarily nice bike for some lucky duck.

On with the show George!
