Odd Turn Signal Issue

if u ride multiple bikes, the one without self canceling signals will put you in the grave , quickly.
FIX THE DAM THANG!

Hi brian,
it ain't a fix, it's a preference.
Back 'ome I drove a car and a van that had different pattern stick-shifts and rode bikes that had different foot shift (up for down vs up for up) patterns.
AND had to ride them giving hand signals because back then bikes didn't have turn flashers.
If you can't remember what you are riding and how it's signals work you should hand in your licence.

I ride one bike with self cancelling signals and some others without, no problem for me. My son rides only one bike without self cancelling, he forgets to turn them off constantly. Depends on the person I guess.

I do prefer PUSH TO CANCEL.

With all due respect, that's not sensible. I have a 2008 TW200 and a 1980 CB650... the XS is the only bike I own that came with self-canceling signals. You shouldn't make prescriptions without knowing the details first.

That is basically what the manufacturers of polarity-insensitive LED replacements have done... and if they'll do it for me, why make it harder on myself?
Just had to do it on turn indicator light on aftermarket speedo on 1980 honda. Bought diode kit from trailer package. Use 2nd set from trailer kit on xs yamaha speedo in near future. It would be much harder to take apart new speedo and replace led than to get plugin diodes maybe?

Okay, so I ordered two of these:

... on Friday, and they arrived yesterday. WOW. Mailed from Earth City, MO. Anyway, I installed one on the XS and one on my TW200, and both work perfectly. I think the blinker indicator wiring is more or less the same on both bikes. And wow is it BRIGHT. I don't know if I'll do any better remembering to cancel my signals, but it seems like this should help.

A bright blinker indicator on a bike with a windshield may not be a good idea. I have a tad brighter than stock indicator on a bike with a windshield and it is almost blinding at night, sure wouldn't want it any brighter than it is now.

you can use ONE led. One leg is grounded, the other leg gets fed by both sides but through diodes (one way valves) they keep one side from lighting the other side when activated.

Okay calm down girls what I'm saying is that if you used to riding bikes that have self-cancelling turn signals and then your ride one that doesn't it can it can kill you if you are human and you forget to turn the damn thing off especially if your ride on the bright Sun and can't see that they're on or if you have a Roadstar the turn in the turn signal indicator is on the gas tank it's not in your line of sight

In my youth, the sound of flasher relays drove me nuts, so would quieten them down. Now, after having earned sufficient dain brammage, I've replaced my relays with the *loud* ones.

On the bike, I've caught myself leaving the turn signal 'on', several times. Not too uncommon out here in laid-back land. Most folks just give us more room. Gonna give those BA9s LEDs a try...
