Over the weekend drove down to Omaha to visit my brother. Stop'd at two motorcycle shops in Iowa. BFE cycles is a small shop that does service work, used parts and sells m/cycles. They had several bikes on the floor including a trio of XS units. The Xs1b (71', yellow and white) was priced at $9000.oo,,, no price listed on the Xs2 (72', red and white).
Next was Baxter's.... a well known stop for British... they are a Triumph and Royal Enfield dealer besides several used British machines Both shops have a web presence.

We go to Nebraska frequently to visit family. Oftentimes that includes a stop in Marne, Iowa to check out the inventory at Baxter Cycle. Always an amazing selection of eye candy, and always at amazing prices. My understanding is that they ship bikes to Europe by the container load. Hate to see that stuff leaving the USA, but get real!

That is some sticker shock! $13,500 for a Honduh GB500. I remember when those bikes were new. Dealers could hardly move them. It is, after all, just a fairly uninspiring XL600 power plant variant. A very attractive styling exercise, however. I'd love to test ride one.

Funny, styled after the Norton and Triumphs of the 60's-70's. And you can buy one of each for that sticker price...

70 XS for 25K?? At my house 25K will get you my tracker, resto mod, scrambler, and the no theme build I`m working on now plus all my parts, 5 extra running engines and I`ll even throw in my new enclosed trailer. Hell if its close enough I`ll even deliver it.

I have bought two Triumphs from Baxter Cycle. Randy Baxter is a total class act and an honorable business man. Even though I live in Arizona, I have met Randy in a couple of occasions here, when he was attending a local vintage motorcycle show and he was stopping by on his way to Las Vegas for the big annual vintage bike auction with a trailer full of bikes.
We did business long distance and he shipped the bikes to my door. He is a major player in the vintage British bike scene.

At Baxter's...that yellow RE Gt 500 with the killer faring (see photo) ...minty.. $5000.oo …. after ck'n out the shop, got a t shirt, etc etc.... I walk'd back to the car... then turn'd around.. ask'd Randy what's his " I don't want it here next Saturday price ? "... just sold.. it's head'd to New Hampshire….

I did not mean to imply anything negative about Randy or Baxter Cycle. It's a helluva bike shop and I enjoy it every time I'm there. I just can't play:shrug:

Roy, I never thought you were downing Randy or his business. I just saw his name come up and thought I’d share my experience with him.
Cheers! Bob

Gday Mike, some mighty purty machines there.

What a cool way to store the tanks.....hot are rises, ergo no moisture, perfect.
