Wow. That’s so incredibly misleading. I can’t believe that..... if you search for pamco on their website, it will bring up their igniton as well. I’m shocked. That’s so slimy.

Mike's XS: the more it changes, the more it's the same. Learn it soon or learn it late, buying from that outfit is a gamble with bad odds. If Mike's doesn't list the ignition as a Pamco, you'd better believe it's a knockoff from Ling Ting Tong LP, a wholly owned subsidiary of Red Army, Inc.

I have to say for anyone who reads this, Pete has been so understanding and helpful through this behind the scenes. That dude is awesome. His products are incredibly powerful and high quality that other companies are trying to copy his in sleezy ways obviously. The Pamco is the shit. And that dude Pete is epic. We in the vintage Yamaha community really lucked out to have a dude like him helping us out. Well, I’m grateful.

I just had to put it out there. He’s the man.

Yes we have been lucky to have Pamcopete. What ever someone thinks it is time now to stand behind his products and his service.......

Jasidok........MikesXS sold the product. Even if Pete has helped you out, are you going to make Mikes aware of the problems and your concerns???

Maybe add XScharge to your tags.....helps to get the word out there and after all it is not a Pamco. Wouldn't hurt to leave pamco in the tags, then if someone does a search this thread with the truth will get out there............

Pete seems to have plenty of patience for all the BS fake items are bringing to his products. Hopefully more people start to figure out/read up on the clones out there and paying attention instead of emailing him and accusing his products.

forgive me, but now your being an idiot.............direct your anger to where it is warranted...........Who's gonna search ........."Research before you buy."...."Sucker"......"Sleezball"..........lol funny

No offense taken Skull. I’m just being an idiot. I’m upset ya know. But it’s ultimately my fault. Trying to make light of my situation. :bike:

I mean I have been through so much trying to figure out what’s wrong with my bike!:doh:

Man, if you only knew!! And the whole time, if I had just taken my time.... been thorough.... done some research... listened to advice.... and mostly just taken my time and really put some thought into my actions prior to jumping in head first... I would have had this fixed a month ago. Y’all are pretty smart on here and know your stuff about these bikes. Oh man. Well. What’s done is done. At least I figured out my spark issue!!!!

I had power going to the spark plugs. I had voltage readings on the primary connectors and the secondary (plug wires) yet no spark. Because my advance unit or the ignition mechanism was askew. And it wasn’t telling the coil to send the spark. At least, that’s how I interpret it. So simple to just be thorough. :shootme:

Oh man.

Interesting the E -Advance board from Post # 17 has pamco stamped on it.

Remember the early batches of the "XS Performance" carbs that were marked and sold as Keihin? Piracy is nothing new at Mike's XS. This is the second set of owners to take over with promises to do it right, but I guess there's just too much money to be made from doing wrong.

Alrighty then. I have received the original pamco in the mail today. I already have the original mechanical advancer setup and it’s nice and responsive. I cleaned the rod while I was there. Everything’s nice and smooth and greased up. Installing the Pamco to my double tower 3 ohm ignition coil and seeing how this goes!

Runs like a charm!!!!!!!!

Hi jasidok,
seems to me that if whoever first started to "improve" your bike's stock ignition had just fixed it instead
it would have been running like a charm without all that expense and aggravation.
It's said that the person in charge of Soviet military production during WW2 had a sign pinned up in his office.
It translated to:-
Seek out those who suggest improvements to in-place functional weapon systems
And shoot them.

Hahahahaha! That’s hysterical.

On the one hand I totally agree with you. But it was running just fine. The guy I got it from had put Harley exhaust pipes on it. And even then it was running fine. Even after the upgrades to the charging and ignition systems. I was only having intermittent issues with the carbs running super rich but I was figuring that out. Just suddenly one day it started not working well. Sometimes it would start and other times it wouldn’t. And it gradually got worse over the course of like a few days. And then it just wouldn’t start. So then I got stuck on the spark plugs... figured out I wasn’t getting spark and just said screw it and re wired the whole bike. And it still wouldn’t start. Hence why I made this post. Then figured out it was the fake pamco to begin with.....:poo:
