I got some on off toggle switches and some three way switches and momentary switch. I'd like to put the starter on the momentary switch. The turn signals on the three way selector switch. And the kill switch on a toggle and the headlights on a toggle.

I'm thinking of doing just on/off for the headlight. When the switch is off it'll be low beam and the day time driving light. When it's on it will be the guages and the hi beam.

Right now it's all stock bulbs except for the tail light which is all l.e.d. I'm planning on using led for the front turn signals, which aren't hooked up right now. And I want to switch my guage bulbs for led as well.

My bike is currently using a 78 wiring harness/guages/and lights. My dimmer switch is broken. My starter switch barely works.

I thought this was going to he easier but I noticed there are 5 wires coming out of the dimmer switch alone.

There are only two wires coming out of my toggles which can handle 6 amps. Should I splice the wires together Into one ? Or should I get a relay? Help me out here wiring gurus !

I've never specifically checked amp draw on my XS headlight, but if your switch is rated at 6 amps I would run a relay. It will be easier to run an On/Off toggle to work the High/Low that way too, power in a 30, switch off on 87a, switch on 87.

I have checked my headlight amp draw and got 3.5amps with a 55w H4 globe i think it was. Easy to check with multi meter. Swap leads to amps side and set dial to amps put one lead on + globe and the other on + wire turn light on and read it.
Cheers

I know the headlights are chocolate and dark green. But I wonder, what I'm supposed to do with the other wires. That are wired into the handle bar headlight dimmer switch. There's a brown white a yellow red, blue, yellow. I'd like to draw out a wiring diagram and create my own harness .

I think you need to take a closer look at your wiring and maybe study some wiring diagrams. Chocolate and dark green are turn signal wires, the brown/white comes from the turn signal flasher unit. Red/yellow should be power into the dimmer switch. Yellow would be power out from it to the high beam. There shouldn't be a blue but rather a green and that would be power out to the low beam.
