Message text removed from notification emails.

As you may have noticed, message text has been removed from notification emails for new replies to a thread or conversation. This is to stop people from replying to the emails. Many people were replying to the emails no matter how many times I told them not to. People thought they were replying to threads and private conversations when they were not. A lot of the messages involved sales from the classifieds with important information that wasn't getting to the person it was supposed to.

That makes sense, hope something can be worked out, I do miss seeing the gist of thread replies in my inbox. What about an automated reply in that mailbox; This message was rejected (you idiot) .

The email address is the same for all email sent to and from the site, so that wouldn't work unfortunately. I was replying to each one basically saying the message was rejected, but people still didn't get it.

The problem with relying on the notifications for keeping up with threads is that you are only notified of the first reply until you come here and read the thread. Replies after that do not trigger a new email until you view the thread again. At the bottom of the notification email it says "You will not receive any further emails about this thread until you have read the new messages". With the old software it said "There may also be other replies, but you will not receive any more notifications until you visit the forum again."
