Ever see exhausts like these?

Google "honda cb360 side stand" for pics...
It's a rubber shoe, but no way to know if it would fit. May be there's a universal, aftermarket upgrade, but if not, I like to fabricate stuff like that. I'm thinking a piece of mountain bike tire which I mentioned, already.

Never had an issue with the XS stand not simply folding itself up. The King with the locking stand WILL put you on the ground and hurt so bad that you must say OUCH!! john
The foot on my side stand is worn and shiny and slides along like a hockey puck. After it happened, I took it right off. Now, I'm going to experiment. I was wearing dress boots one night and my foot slipped off the kick start and it recoiled against my calf like a ball peen hammer. I have a check list when I launch a boat, but you only do that once a day.

I got this rat's foot stand with the bike. I even have a spare shoe. The spring was bad and the bike would fall over if you looked at it.

Silly ideas:

- Shifter block. Shifter won't move when sidestand is down.

- Sidestand retractor. Like a hammer and sear, when shifter is moved, sidestand retracts.

- Sidestand warning. If sidestand is down and shifter is moved, an audible warning, or cattle prod wired to the seat.

- Motion sensor. As soon as motion is detected on wheel or sprocket, then if sidestand is down, do something alarming.

- Pharmaceuticals. Something to help us remember.

- Gomer. He runs alongside, tellin' ya whatcha doin' wrong...

Why not just adopt the method that Yameringha uses on the V Max and possibly other models.
  • Motor running, in neutral but side stand down - motor cuts out when clutch is pulled in.
  • Engine running when side stand put down - motor cuts out.
and if you also have the electric leg
  • Bike in gear when starter button pushed - starter wont turn.

Gee, I like the shifter block idea. I have something like that on my outboard. If you're in gear when you try to pull start the engine, it will pull, but the throttle won't move from idle. And a lot of times, you want to clear its throat when you pull it so it should be in neutral to do so, especially if you don't want to be left in the middle of a lake. I got a kill switch tied to my belt , while alone on my newer outboard, but not this one.
