Nice blue.... I usually don't do or have anything to do with paint.... our little shop is currently do'n 3 77' standards.... one will be stock bountiful blue, one black, no graphics and my pieces, in white with black trim. Paint work is a pain in the kister. My buddy Mark.. in photo.. is the paint guru. I help'd prep the pieces.... besides the media blast. the paint stripper... we got a spot weld-slide jammer to pop dents... we make every effort to lay the least amount of body mud.... my tank had hung on a wall for sometime and a wasp nest was found inside..... three overnights in milk stone.. several hot tub overnight soakings.. a pound of one inch sheet metal screws shaken.. shaken... my arms nearly fell off.... then.. the final rinse.. clear ..shiny innards. Next Caswell sealer.. then everything goes to primer. So..looooong before any paint sprays from the gun.. hours.. many hours are involved…. Yes.. the expense can be $$$$.. but if it's done properly.... money well spent. This blue set looks very correct. Well done.

Ooooh baby! Is that the paint work you’ve been waiting for for about two years? It might have been worth the wait!

Hey! what are all you guys doing looking in here?

It was three years last September....
Not really mad, I'm behind terrible on bike builds, but still a guy gets antsy.
We've been trading bikes for paint so it gets a bit hard to figure what the costs are. Not to mention the whole "I don't want to know" thing. :speechless:
Pretty stoked will go and get it this week. Thanks for the props all. Like motormike I strip the tins to metal otherwise any painter is rightfully leery of quoting, these were pretty good. I think this makes the 8th XS650 paint job so far, Madness needs decent paint yet......
