Just wanted to give back to the folks on this forum as best I knew how, given that it is such a wealth of information and people are so giving of their time to help others. So the emblems on my 81 were trashed, cracked, and looked like crap. I didn't want to spend the $40+ minimum to buy new ones, so I set about getting vinyl letters cut. My daughter is a bit of an artist so she cut some up for me after tracing the emblem. I know others have done the same, so this is nothing new. However, since we have the cutting machine and vinyl, I will ship these vinyl letters to whomever would like a set for cost of shipping plus say $5.00. Maybe an even $8 bucks or so? Simply sand the letter faces down, paint them with a nice gloss black, apply the vinyl stickers (may have to trim a few spots with exacto knife), and then clear coat. A bit of work, but you get the satisfaction of restoring your own and save a few bucks in the process. Here are a few before and after pics. Used some JB Weld to fix cracks and repair chipped areas first.
