If you could buy a brand new master cylinder...

Oops, did I not get a stainless steel brake line? I chose the color black, I thought it was just a color difference. Will it rust or is it inferior? Here is the description...

Color: Black/Grey

Black Hose Material: Iron+Plastic Cement

Grey Hose Material: Stainless steel Braided
 
well AFAIK all of these are TEFLON (PTFE) lines with a braided covering the teflon does the work.
 
Not braiding but an outer protective shell similar to the shell on a speedo cable? and with the spring to protect it through the triples area, and a couple grommets for guides. Looks like it will work fine.
 
Watching this thread, my XS was my daily driver to and from work for years so it had to work. I remember 3am in the garage cleaning out the caliper piston because it wasn't releasing on a Tuesday morning. I'd love to get rid of my junky, stripped, and cruddy MC for something more suitable.

Also, 5Twin, thanks for the link to those stainless hoses. Anything that's $10 Canadian and will noticeably improve my XS is money well spent my friend.

Please post back about how your new MCs go, I'm leaning towards the TW200 myself.
 
I also noticed Banggood has MC rebuild kits for the princely sum of $1.56 each, lol. They have 11mm, 12.7mm, and 14mm, just the sizes we need. I may have to try some of them. Sure beats $25 to $40 for original or brand name aftermarket kits.
 
Master cyl came in the mail today. Doesn`t really look all that bad for $16.50. At least it doesn`t have the mirror mount and the hand lever matches the clutch side. The reservior is low enough for the Magura 314 throttle to clear. Just what I was looking for. If it doesn`t leak I`ll use it.:thumbsup:
 
Questions about the TW200 MC.

Do all TW200 year MCs work with the stock brake switch? I just pulled the trigger on a 70cm braided line from banggood which will fit my clubman set up nicely. In for a penny in for a pound, looking to order an MC.
