Need Help

PS I use ethanol gas exclusively.
And here I was always looking for un oxygenated gas
regular unleaded is better(78 octane)? I have filled with the 78 and it ran fine I always thought that old of an engine needed oxygenated gas

???

You mean 87 octane?

Down here we have 1 station that offers ethanol-free 93 octane.
Expensive.
My bike loves it.
Your right it is 87 octane unleaded
but would running the ethanol free fuel (expensive) be the way to go if I can find it Around here the ethanol free is easy to find and on the road it's fairly common

I run premium in the high compression 750 madness, the stock motors are all quite happy on 10% regular. I run all my bikes hard on occasion..

should I be concerned with the 10% blend messing with the rubber components in the fuel lines or carbs

MikesXS intakes were noted to dissolve into a gooey mess with ethanol, not sure if that's the only reason they dissolved.

carbs, petcocks no issue. I ALWAYS replace fuel lines with tygon or other modern line first thing.
any idea of id od of the tygon gas line any idea of where to get it (motion pro?)

farm and fleet sells it by the foot

Don't get MikesXS fuel line either. They used to sell really nice stuff, thin wall and an exact replica of the original, but not anymore. Now it's thick wall, basically just 1/4" auto type line, and the quality is the absolute pits. I've had every piece I used so far (2 or 3) fail within a year, splitting on the ends where it fits over the nipple.

I try and stay away from Mike xs I've ordered parts from them and I'm not too impressed especially with the crush washers for the drain plugs (found another source)

Mike's is hit or miss on parts...just depends on what you're looking at. I wouldn't buy anything rubber from them for example...and generally anything that's a "rebuild kit" is pretty low quality I've found...but the pricier stuff or unique items are usually of better. And sometime's that's the only game in town for some parts.

If you can get a part number and just google it you sometimes can find a part also

A lot of the retailers are getting their parts from the same source...........Mikes, TCbros, Electrosports, HHB and then go on ebay the its the same product going by the pics...............

I would hope if their in the original packaging and NOS they should be good

i just went to the auto store (autozone) and asked for gas line that won't dissolve with the new fuel and he said " it all won't dissolve take your pick"
so grabbed the one that looked right and got out'a there fairly cheap ! and it works !
