Remove Top End Without Removing Engine?

I suppose once you set your stall out the engine would be on the bench ready for surgery within two hours.
I have a TX750 that has a weeping rocker cover, again the engine has to come out to do this. I’m reluctant to remove the engine just for this, I’ll put up with the dribble for now.
I’m lucky really that the XS doesn’t need any work, 34,000mls and still sounds nice, if the speedo is to be believed.
Last time I changed the oil no evidence of detritus in it, touch wood.

I bought a top end on eBay a few years ago the bottom end had squares on the end of the studs they could be taken out using a spanner.

My friend Ray did this on his flat tracker, said it worked well. He also made it a right hand shift. He is quite good.

^Was it an xs650? Ask him how he did it, for us. A lot of us have a phobia about tearing threads out of aluminum.
