So, i have a set of xs650 hubs for spoked wheels. Single disc front, drum rear. They are completely stripped and im looking to get them powder coated. My problem is im not quite sure what areas shouldnt be coated on them. I dont really have anything to reference as i bought them as they are, not assembled. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If needed i can provide pics. This project has been sitting long enough, time to make some progress. Thanks!

Don't coat any of the inside bores on either side, where the bearings and grease seals mount. You probably shouldn't get any in any of the threaded holes either (disc and sprocket mounts). The spoke holes in the hub may or may not present a problem. If they get too filled with powder, the spoke heads may not seat into them deep enough. This is mainly an issue with outer spokes. If they can't seat into the hub deep enough, they bow when connected to the rim. You have to clean the excess powder out of the spoke hole bottoms. Hand twirling a suitably sized drill bit in the holes does the trick but it's a bit time consuming. But hey, you want powder coated hubs, this is the price you may have to pay.

Yeah, i knew the bores and bolt holes would need to be covered, just wasnt sure about anything else. Seems like i should be ok but i just wanted to make sure. Thanks for the insight, i appreciate it.
