Well, the time has come to finally part ways with this old bike.

It is a 1975 Bobber project, however, it will still need some work to get it completely finished and running. I got this bike about 7 or 8 years ago when I purchased 2 of them together. One was listed as a "complete running" bike, and the other one, this one, was a described as basket case/parts bike. The "running" bike did not run, so I brought it back to life and rode it around here and there, until I recently sold it. The Basket Case bike, was just that, a frame and forks, with only the front wheel and the complete crankcase, minus the upper half of the engine, and a crate full of miscellaneous parts and pieces

My friend was never really into bikes until he saw the 2 XS’s and then he got the project bug. He wanted to build a Bobber style bike, so we set off to do just that. And we almost got there. Here's what we did:

- Complete disassembly and cut off whatever we didn't need or want on the frame, (rear hoop, passenger pegs, etc)
- Stripped and painted Honda Rebel shocks, and relocated shock mounts
- 16 inch rear wheel
- “Custom” Battery mount for Ballistic 8 cell battery
- “Custom” electronics tray under seat
- Solo seat
- Sportster tank flat mounted to frame
- “Custom” Mid-Mount foot pegs, shifter, and rear brake using Monster Craftsman and TC Bros parts
- Rephased crank and cam, by Hugh's Handbuilt
- 750cc Big Bore kit from Mikes XS
- Pamco 277 Ignition, with ultimate high output coils
- Hugh's Handbuilt PMA Alternator
- Completely rebuilt forks, with new Progressive Suspension springs, lowers shaved, smoothed and painted
- Hugh's Handbuilt Fork Brace
- Pandemonium "Ya Mama" exhaust
- All new wheel bearings, swingarm needle bearing kit, fork/neck bearings by All Balls Racing
- Clip-on Style Handlebars
- Hugh’s Handbuilt Upper Engine Mounts
- 32’ Ford style vertical plate mount with F@&K YOU in the lense
- Black Powder coated side case covers and valve and timing covers
- New starter gear and spring
- Entire engine completely stripped, cleaned and rebuilt with new bearing, seals and gaskets

There is probably more to list, but basically, this bike was rebuilt from the ground up, using all new parts when possible, or freshly rebuilt parts. I use the word “Custom” loosely, in the sense that we had to make parts by hand, with limited tools and skill. We got the bike running just to see how it ran, but can see there are a few issues. First, it needs to be properly wired. It was just temp wired to get it running. It smoked quite a bit when we fired it up, and I can see some oil leaking from left side cylinder base, so it likely needs a Head and/or Base gasket.

I have a clean New York title, in my name. There has been probably over 4k invested into just the parts on this bike. The rephase, the big bore kit, Pamco and PMA, and pipes add up to about half of that. I know it is not realistic to ask for even close to that, so I think $2500 is a fair asking price considering that someone that has real knowledge of these bikes could get this sucker up and running right in a couple of weekends. With that said, I will listen to any offer, and consider a fair negotiation.

The bike has been garage kept, and located in Long Island, New York. Obviously a local sale is preferred, but I’m willing to sell to anyone that can take it.

I realize that this is a large, long winded post, but I wanted to be clear about what has been done to, and the condition of the bike. It's hard to articulate all the minor details in one simple post, so I invite anyone interested to to reply here, or send me a private message with a phone number, and I will be happy to answer any questions.

Springtime is coming. Lets here some offers! I will not be insulted by low offers, I just want to see if anyone can take this off my hands.

Looks like you spent the build money in the right places. Title in your name is a big plus! To bad KS is too far from NY for me. Good luck with your sale.

Ah man, it aint that far, what like 20 hours or something. lol. well, hopefully someone closer wants it.

I have shipped bikes all over even overseas. You are looking at $500 to $750 to ship from east to west coast. You could also do youshipit.com and they bid on the price. I only used them once and was not pleased with the outcome. There are many bike shippers out there and you may get lucky and they are going that way.

Please folks, I need this gone. I'll be moving soon and will have no way to store it any longer. Make an offer, any offer, I wont be insulted. The worst that happens is I say no.

I want it so bad, your description is exactly what I want but I’m In Missouri, My wife saw it and said are you kidding? That means it is a bitchin bike., I would have to sell my 61 Stratocaster and I can’t. I promise I will tell everyone I know about it, I am legally blind. But I will tell all of my bike and car buddies. I am sure it is well worth it!
