I'm recussitating a '81 Special II. The enricher knob on the BS34 carbs will not stay pulled out. This is only an inconvenience since when it fires I can release the knob and it will keep running.

When I had the carbs out to clean them I looked to see if there was a way to adjust the drag on the enricher button and came up empty. The parts fiche was no help either.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

BTW, once the carbs were cleaned, the non-runner I bought became a runner .
Here it is in all its buckhorned, sissy-barred glory. It's since been de-sissied, gotten a paint job, fresh sneakers and is in the midst of a brake job. I'm planning on selling it as a stock XS650H.

Probably lost the springs and ball bearings, (47-48), when you cleaned the carbs............the choke rod has indentations, (arrows), for the ball bearings to hold it open

Yes, they are from an SH. I have the original wire spoked wheels, but they are not as nice as the mags. It seems like the wheels were changed out and the originals were tossed in a barn. The spokes and rims have a lot of surface corrosion.

Plus the mags allow you to use tubeless tires.

I'm not a fan of the buckhorns and the seat. I like the earlier bikes (like the one in my avatar) much better. When I sell it, the original wheels will go with it.

Zerk fitting parts will do the job. Easy to drill into the hole that holds the ball with a hand drill, it releases a ball and spring that will work. You may need to clip the spring a bit shorter. The ball size varies in different size zerks, but a zerk assortment package is only a couple bux. Putting springs and balls in is a bit of a trick carbs will have to come back off to do it. work over a cookie sheet so loose parts don't find the dark recesses of your shop.
