But what's up with you and your business if you don't mind my asking? Is it going forward?
gggGary,
The time has come, as it does with all good things, to move on. I have had a very good run with PAMCO ignitions for the past 11 years, but it is time to move on. I sincerely want to thank all of the many XS650 riders who have installed my products on their motorcycles and, hopefully, enjoyed the experience.
Ride. Enjoy. Life is simple.

Pete: truly you are one of the pillars of the XS650 community. Countless numbers of riders will continue to ride to the horizon on your excellent and pioneering work!
I, and surely many others, wish you continued success in whatever field your endeavors take you.

I understand the moving on deal, when it's time you know it. I would like to thank you for your untiring efforts to keep some old iron on the road. Also the time you have spent here helping us when we are in trouble. Thanks again.

Ditto. Current relative popularity of the of the xs650 has got to be due in large part to inexpensive replacement for points.

Pete
Used your products for many years and I thankyou for building a good unit. You got dealt a bad hand and sometimes its better to focus on something new than get your mind bent on the assholes of the world. I am just like the other guys who used the PAMCO , proud that we got to be part of your journey.
KEEP CHOPPIN and RIDE ON!

Thanks Pete you and your Pamco system made me and my bike get along much easier
I can now take a road trip and just enjoy the ride and not think of whether I will have grief or not with the ignition
on the road
Stay in touch !

Damn! I ordered a Pamco ignition yesterday and had a refund this morning. Crappy part is the coil, caps, and wires I ordered from Mike's for $80 after have already been shipped out. Wish I would have got a heads up when I emailed 2 days ago about which coil to order with the Pamco.

o.. no .. arrr … thanks for all the time effort and advice over all these yrs .. all the best for your future endevours .. have you anyone lined up to maybe take over in the future .. don't want to have to go to the mikes copys .. again all the best

Well, this is sad news, but expected. The elephant in the room for me is the fact that I still cannot believe Mikes XS/DCC just go and shaft one of their their suppliers in this way. Profits before any business morals....Their actions, and yours Pete tells me who has the integrity and who doesn't. The losers will be the consumers, with less tech support of the product, additionally the re-phase owners (myself included) don't seem to have a cheap ignition alternative at this time.
Pete, I wish you all the best in your future endeavors/retirement. Thanks for providing me and many others with a cheap reliable ignition alternative when there was none. Over the years I've used your ignitions on both XS650's and CB750's, they have proven themselves to be totally reliable.

One thing is for sure, I'll make my own HEI from parts before I buy one from Mikes...

Dear Pete:
Thanks so much for all of your hard work and successful innovation on behalf of the vintage motorcycle community.

Your products are superb - well done.

I do have a question: have you passed along your technology to a successor - and if so, to whom?

Pete

Well said MaxPete. I was wondering the same thing.
PAMCOPETE, Enjoy your well earned retirement. Like many of us (I'm sure) I was planning on purchasing an updated system for the SG and the KZ project. Oh well. The old one is working just fine on the SG. One of the best improvements I ever did to her. Enjoy.

There comes a day when you realize turning the page is one of the best feelings in the world. You are on your way to realizing there is so much more in your book than the page you may have been stuck on. Sound like you just earned your "License to chill".

(put one of your ignitions in my bike a few years ago , started first time, runs, haven't touched it since...enough said.)

Yeah, I just ordered a new unit. Will someone be crying the torch and continuing to work with and manufacture this product.
Good luck Pete. I am enjoying my retirement as I am sure are most of the other members on here.
Grace and Peace, Dude!

Just ordered another Boyer Ignition WILL NOT BUY the MIKES KNOCKOFF.

I know I am biased but its the smart move really.

There are lots of Electronic Ignitions systems being peddled on the net these days but how many of them have a reliable customer service and technical support on the end of a telephone. Boyer have been around for 60 years and I suspect that Boyer will still be around when some of these other fly-by-night systems have disappeared

I have been using Boyer for so long and really never had a problem with any of them over the years. I did a BSA like 25 years ago and it still has the Boyer in it today. No plate problems or anything and the BSA and Triumph both run hotter that a xs650. I liked Pete’s product and I support all small business people. When you hide behind a phone number and have a large business I can’t support that. Plus not good to knock off a vendor you use for a long time and not cut him in or offer a buy out. Poor business manners and will bite them in the ass. Who do you go after next? Just my opinion so people don’t get your ass in a pucker.
