Not sure I want to go that far. I am interested in just redoing the can that houses the speedo and tach. Is the process the same for just getting the body off?

One really sweet stock 75, one highly modified 650 bike (wish I had a picture) and one 81 like mine that is a work in progress, 50% triumphs and not one Harley.
Thats 3 more XS650's than I've seen anywhere around me 
There are pics, and the semantic in the first post, (scroll down to near the bottom of the first post), that shows the cups being removed from the speedo

Ha!, I still have an up opened HF small in/lbs T wrench I bought for small steel bicycle bolts into aluminum NLA parts...Never used it...afraid it might be wrong. That said, will probably open it up now. Learned my lesson re-doing valley pan gasket bolts on the car...like > x in/lbs and it silicone gasket leaks, remove top of engine again!
