I honestly don’t think you will have an issue getting the unit. Lord willing it will work properly and you will be happily riding for years to come. Just pray you don’t have any issues lol.

Yes true. Just like the original stock system.This issue can be solved with good maintenance and up keep of the electrical system and a good solid battery.
Was that an E-Ignition you ordered?Just ordered a E-Advance unit from Pete's site Thur. (5/2) evening, guess I'll see how things shake out.
Yes it was.Was that an E-Ignition you ordered?
Amazing. Pete you can respond to someone ordering from you, but you can't help people that have bought from you.Was that an E-Ignition you ordered?

@650Skull sorry, i didn’t mean to hijack and Boyer your thread. Iam glad you made the thread it did help me out tremendously in diagnosing my issue.
@peanut.
Yes a warping Boyer plate and this will happen to XS650 installations if certain steps are not taken............
what 'certain steps' would that be then ?
I have no bias for Boyers .......other than that they are far more reliable, cheaper and have considerably better support than any other electronic ignition system on the market.Thats not bias that is fact .
As for this nonsense about warping stator plates you're talking out your ass as usual. you know absolutely nothing about Boyer ignition systems as you have publicly acknowledged . you've never used one nor probably even seen one . Stick to something that you know something about
Oh and talking about bias................... you wouldn't be biased against the Brits by any chance would you
Peanut, warping doesn't happen with great frequency; I've only seen it once. But the timing plate shown warped enough for the rotor to contact the solder pads, and no, the rotor was not loose or improperly installed. The first Boyer ignition that I installed, back in the early 1990's, gave trouble free service for several years until the bike was destroyed in a crash. But the Boyer plate is not well supported in the timing housing,: a substantial part of the edge is left hanging in the breeze, the material could be more robust, and the photos above speak for themselves as to what can occur. Please internalize this: You do not learn it all from a single experience.
