I bought one of these a year ago and never got around to fitting it. I now can't find the safe place I put the damn thing doh. ....anyhow I was wondering where best to mount it without it looking too much of a bodge .
has anyone made a nice mount for one of these ? and if so where did you fit it .

some great solutions G... Thanks.
I particularly like the handlebar mount that incorporates a USB outlet... thats really useful . Don't know why I didn't think about a bar mount , I suppose I liked the idea some sort of dashboard that would incorporate the 3x stock idiot lights
How are you planning on mounting your voltmeter ?

Was thinking a bracket off the handle bar clamp. Kinda an in stock for what ever bike needs a voltmeter added thing.
Now you got me thinking about buying the one with the temp gauge I posted LOL it does have an on off switch so can be wired live, used to charge a phone when the bike is off. Also useful to do a battery check in the shed, off season

I noticed in the blurb that it doesn't register voltage below 12v apparently the display just starts to flicker ? but thats ok I guess you would normally expect to see a charging voltage.
I would really like to design and build a complete dash board that would incorporate the clocks and idiot lights and whatever else might be needed like a USB outlet temperature gauge altimeter GPS etc ;)

I'm kinda crude but this may give you ideas, it's a modified aftermarket dash on madness.

its nice and simple and unfussy which I like unfortunately my near sight is so bad now that I can barely see the speed I'm doing. I judge by how fast things are going backwards lol
Something i'd really like to do is change the stock gauge fascias for some white ones . it is so difficult to see anything black when I haven't got reading glasses on

Mine is hard wired to the battery with an on/off toggle switch. That way I know what is going on at the battery, not at the brown wire that may have a bad connection somewhere. I made my own mount for the gauges and it fits in between with an oil pressure gauge.

You know I’ve seen the ones with an off / on switch on them and I never understood what that was for. I’ve been thinking about one of those also because I would like to have a phone charger for longer rides.

neat solution Kiwi.;)
I particularly like the oil temperature gauge .

Now you got me thinking.......how many gauges could you fit to a bike .
I've always hankered after the E Type Jag dashboard.....do you think it would fit my xs650 :laugh2:
You could have fuel, Engine temp , Oil temp, Oil pressure, Altimeter, Voltmeter, vacuum, ............. ;)

brilliant !
back in the early 70s the car breakers yards were full of Mk2 Jaguars piled on top of each other.
I used to pull the complete gauge and switch console out and fit all the gauges into some of my old bangers ..the more gauges the better. Luckily we didn't have any aircraft dismantlers near us lol :laugh2:

I still much prefer analogue gauges even today but then I'm a vintage car nut

Was at a swap meet a few days ago was seriously considering an old dash board insert for a "custom bike install", In a rare fit of sanity I put it back on the table.

sanity..........what the hell is sanity ? if I ever had any its long gone.:)

Hey Peanut, I put one of those on my bike after replacing my stator to monitor the output. Not so much nice as functional.Cut out a piece of 18 gauge sheet metal I had from another operation and shaped it as small as I could for fitment. Works fine ,Mounted on one of the speedo mounting bolts with rubber grommet between the gauge mount and speedo. Vibrates like hell at certain rpm's but still lets me see what's going on. I didn't intend to leave like that, but.

does the job nicely but I can see that it would vibrate like hell though. ;)It would give me quadruple vision lol
I'm going to look out for a gauge bracket from a later bike that will fit my gauges and have space for some extra bits
