Bike was runing great wode it around a little parked it went back out and the left carb has gas just pouring out of it same with the channel on the pitcock any ideas

Did the bike sit for an extended time? If so the gas probably contains ethanol and has probably left a sticky film causing some things to stick. The newly induced gas may end up unsticking it if you just ran it come back in an hour run it again. See if it does it again sit another hour see if 3rd time is the charm. If not time to clean the carbs.

Welcome, Dante. Your bike has vacuum operated petcocks. They're supposed to shut off automatically when the engine isn't running, but they have a nasty way of not doing what they're supposed to do. Your BS34 carburetors vent the float chamber through two large holes in the intake bell at 3:00 and 9:00. What you're seeing is what happens when a petcock and a float valve fail to stop the flow of fuel. The spilled fuel that you can see isn't the only problem. The stuff you can't see runs into the head, past any open valve, past the rings, and into the crankcase.

There's plenty here on petcock repair, float testing, fuel level inspection and adjustment, and float valve replacement. The Tech button and the search window are your friends.

Best reply yet thanks

Be sure to check the oil for the scent of gasoline BEFORE running it again and change it if necessary.

I've decided that I'm going to tear it down clean everything I'll make shure I take pics is it hard to find a rebuild kit for the carb and fuel valve wanting to replace for the hell of it

These carbs with some variations have been used on a lot of bikes. Each bike required different jetting and such.
Most kits that come with brass parts are often not useable on our XS650's.
It's better to tear down your carbs and inspect your parts to see what you need, then replace just what you need.
www.amckayltd/com/carbguide.pdf will help you with this.

But do they leak, and are the float needle and seat sealing properly?

Gasoline piddling out of there is a sure sign that something is wrong....
I went through it once problem went away ran it a bit parked it came out and gas everywhere pulled it blew it out checked it looked clean eyeballed the float reassembled still spewing
