Hello all,

I'm in need of a one piece clutch pushrod and a center stand pivot bolt. Anyone have any laying around they need/want to let go of? Thanks

Just one or both?

Is this the infamous one piece clutch rod ? 7.97 mm dia.
Aluminum with steel inserted ends. This came to me with parts and I haven’t tried it yet ..

Those threads look buggered up real bad, or is it just an optical illusion? I just need one

I suppose its infamous, although I've never seen a dual material one like that? I'd just like to replace the stock multi piece system w/ a single piece, same as the 70-75's had (I believe?).

Wannaberidin:
I just typed in "One piece Yamaha XS650 clutch pushrod" and the following linky came up on eBay for around $17 bucks.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/NOS-Yamaha-Clutch-Push-Rod-2-1970-1975-XS1-XS2-TX650-XS650-256-16357-00/

NOTE: 256-16357-00 is the Yamaha OEM part number for this component.

As has been pointed out on this forum many times before, if you simply put that number (no words or any other info) into your search engine window, you will be surprised at how much stuff appears, often at very low prices.

I just did this a moment ago and no fewer than 357 (!!!) results appeared (including of course the MikesXS replacement part - which apparently works OK but is not OEM). SOMEWHERE in all of those hundreds of results - there will be a good one at a great price - and you can grab it.

I got one of these OEM pushrods for $11 about a year and half ago.

That OEM part number is golden information - extremely useful.

All good , but does anybody recognize this Aluminum/steel inserted rod ?

No, what you have is one half of the two-piece clutch rod. With the two-piece rod, one rod is steel, the other is aluminum with steel ends. The Yamaha engineers changed over to the more-expensive two piece rod for a reason -- the aluminum and steel combination better matches the expansion of the engine as it gets hot, and thus the clutch stays adjusted better, and you don't have problems finding neutral when hot. Something that wannabridin should consider before he downgrades his push rod.

Gotcha, thx:thumbsup:
I’m keeping it as a spare. My completely stock 77, 78, & 79 clutches have all worked just fine ..

Pic does make the threads look wonky, they're fine in person. Shoot me your info and I can get one headed your way.
